Outdoor communion ending June 30

Four years ago, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, St. Francis Xavier Parish began offering communion outdoors to parishioners who were unable to come indoors and safely receive the Eucharist in an enclosed church building.

Even after restrictions were lifted, parish ministers have continued to bring the Body of Christ outside to those who listened to Mass on the radio in their cars or in lawn chairs.

However, now that concerns about contracting the virus have abated, most people are venturing indoors for the grocery, restaurants, stores and other needs. Therefore, beginning July 1 communion will no longer be brought outside during Mass.

If you or someone you love has a medical condition that makes it extraordinarily difficult to come into church, please contact the parish office at 330-725-4968.

We look forward to worshiping fully together as one Body of Christ with all who seek true communion within the Catholic Church.
