Mary’s life as a Jewish girl

In this parish Lenten Faith Sharing season, Fr. Mitch Pacwa has been showing us how Mary was “Virgin, Mother, and Queen.” But Mary was also a young, Jewish girl from the ancient Middle East. She attended synagogue and worshiped at the Jerusalem Temple, and her native land was governed by the occupying Roman Empire. How can learning more about the time and place in which Mary lived shed light on her and the unique role she was called to play in the Gospel stories? Join us Tuesday, March 28, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., in the Xavier Room, as historian Joan Cahalan shares details of the time that would have shaped the life of our Blessed Mother.
