Edge Logo

The Edge is a Catholic-centered, middle school youth program provided for the sixth, seventh and eighth grades. We strive to provide a different experience of religious education that appeals to younger teens and mirrors our Life Teen program for teens in high school.

Registration for 2024-25 is open!

Students in grades 6 and 7 will attend PSR in a classroom setting on Wednesdays from 6 to 7:15 p.m.
But our 8th-graders have options!

Options for Grade 8

In an effort to have a more collaborative, grade-appropriate experience, we are offering two options for students in Grade 8.

  1. Sunday evenings (Life Teen)
    Time: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
    (Mass is at 5:30 p.m.)
This is slightly longer than our Wednesday option, but it includes dinner!!! 🙂
The format will more closely follow a youth group model. Students will have
topics presented, and meet in small groups with their grade for breakout
    discussions.
  2. Wednesday evenings
    Time: 6 to 7:15 p.m.
This will be strictly in a classroom setting. This will “look” more like a traditional PSR class, just like grades 6 and 7.

Either option will fulfill the religious education requirement prior to Confirmation. For more information about this sacrament, please contact Deacon Bob at [email protected] or Dawn Cavanaugh at [email protected].

For grades 6, 7 & 8:

Details:

  • Cost: $70

Wednesday Drop Off:

Students enter by the front doors of the school at 5:50 p.m. Dismissal is at 7:15 p.m.

Homeschool option (for grades 6 & 7 only)

In this option, the parents or guardians are the teachers! Families will pick up materials at the beginning of the year, and use them to share their faith with their children. Regular assessments that are submitted to our Parish School of Religion office help to keep families on track and accountable. This option might be ideal for families who are not available at our scheduled PSR class times but share our understanding of the importance of passing on the faith to our children.

Thank you for your interest in our Parish School of Religion! If we can answer any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Summer Kish, director of religious education, at 330-764-8961 or [email protected].
