Time to Update your Parish Records

December 22, 2025

In the Gospel of Luke, we hear that “a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the whole world should be enrolled.” Mary and Joseph set out on a long and inconvenient journey to Bethlehem—not for comfort or convenience, but in faithful response to what was asked of them. That simple act of obedience placed them exactly where God needed them to be for the birth of Christ.

Today, our parish is asking for a much smaller journey—just a few minutes of your time—to complete our parish census and update our database of registered parishioners. While it may not involve miles on foot or a crowded inn, it plays an important role in the life of our faith community.

An updated parish census helps us care for one another more effectively. Accurate information allows us to communicate clearly, reach out in times of illness or loss, and ensure parishioners receive important sacramental, formation, and service opportunities. It also helps us plan responsibly for ministries, staffing, facilities and future needs—so we can be good stewards of the gifts entrusted to us.

Mary and Joseph’s census journey helped fulfill God’s plan in a profound way. By completing our parish census, you help ensure that no one in our parish family is overlooked and that we can continue Christ’s mission together.

Thank you for taking this small but meaningful step. Like Mary and Joseph, may we respond faithfully—and trust that God works through even the simplest acts of cooperation.
