Confirmation strengthens our bond with Christ, equips us with the Holy Spirit, and sends us forth to live and share the faith.
About Confirmation
Confirmation is the completion of our Christian initiation. Just as Jesus empowered His disciples at Pentecost, we too receive the Spirit to become His witnesses. Our teens prepare through two years of catechesis, sponsor relationships, reflection, and prayer.
At the Bishop’s invitation each spring, they receive the fullness of the Spirit and are sent forth in mission.
Confirmation Program
Our Confirmation program is a two-year preparation series. Students in St. Francis Xavier School or our Public School of Religion begin this formation in their eighth-grade year. It also is designed for any high school teen (9th grade or older) who has not yet completed a Confirmation preparation program to receive the sacrament. Deacon Bob and Dawn Cavanaugh, youth minister, lead the Confirmation program.
