Catholic Faith Language: Living as Missionaries of Communion

Ever wonder why your neighbor is all about the novenas, while you’re busy volunteering for needs in the community? News flash: We may all love Jesus, but we don’t express that love in the same way.

Some of us are more inclined toward service; some are all about the devotionals. Some best find their faith expressed through the study of Scripture, and others through music. What about you?

Understanding the Catholic Church as a communion of seven spirituality types or languages, Fr. Ed Estok’s “Catholic Faith Languages” assessment tool helps each participant to appreciate his/her preferred manner of growing in faith. An understanding of the church as Communion and the appreciation of one’s personal faith language can lead each of us to more effectively share our Catholic faith as “missionaries of the Communion” in the world.
