Thank you, Father Kondik
If you’ve attended a Thursday or Friday morning Mass, you’ve no doubt seen Father Curtis Kondik as the presider. But if you are only here on weekends, chances are you’re scratching your head and wondering: Who’s Father Kondik?
Although he lives at the St. Francis Xavier Parish rectory (above the parish offices), Father Kondik shares his time with Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, our neighbor to the west with a 500-square-mile territory and just one other priest. Father Kondik assists with anointings and sick calls, funerals and school events at our parish during the week, then travels to celebrate weekend Masses at the four Our Lady Help of Christians worship sites.
Those who have encountered Father Kondik have enjoyed his inclusion of traditional Catholic practices, such as praying the Regina Caeli or Angelus before the start of Mass, and making available the Sacrament of Confession after weekday Masses.
After more than four years of faithful service here, Father Kondik is preparing to move to his next assignment in South Euclid and Lyndhurst, where he will serve at Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Clare parishes.
All are invited to join us for a farewell brunch after 7:30 a.m. Mass on Thursday, June 5, in the church basement social hall.
