The Heart of Our Faith: A Great Love Story

At the center of everything we believe is a person: Jesus Christ. God who became man, died, rose again, and now invites you into a life-changing relationship with Him.

You Were Created in Love

In a plan of sheer goodness, God—who is perfect, eternal, and overflowing with love—created the world and everything in it, including you. He made you not out of necessity, but out of love, to share in His divine life.

God has never stopped drawing close to you. He placed a longing in your heart—a desire for truth, beauty, goodness, and love—that only He can fill. From the first moment of your existence, you have been known, chosen, and loved.

“God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in His own blessed life.”

– Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1

A Fallen World

Though created in love, humanity turned inward. We chose pride over trust, sin over surrender. This rupture—what the Church calls “the Fall”—fractured our communion with God, with one another, and even with ourselves.

Sin brought suffering, disorder, and death into the world. But even in our rebellion, God’s mercy never left. He promised a Savior. He never stopped pursuing His people.

“Refusing to follow God’s plan of love, we have been enslaved to sin.”

– Bishop Edward Malesic,
A Flourishing Apostolic Church

Saved, Not Abandoned

Rather than abandon us, God chose to save us. In the fullness of time, Jesus Christ entered history—fully God and fully man—to rescue and redeem us. By His death on the Cross, Jesus took our sin upon Himself. And by rising from the dead, He opened the way back to the Father.

At every Mass, we encounter this same saving mystery—not symbolically, but sacramentally. The sacrifice of Jesus is made present on the altar. And His mercy still reaches every heart, no matter how far it has strayed.

“The more time we spend with Jesus, particularly in the celebration of the Eucharist and Reconciliation, the more we begin to look like him.”

– Bishop Edward Malesic, A Flourishing Apostolic Church

Restored to New Life in Christ

Jesus did not just die to redeem you. He rose to live in you. In Baptism, He makes us His own. In Confession, He washes us clean. In the Eucharist, He gives us His very self—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity—as daily bread.

But He will not force you to believe. He simply invites: come and see.

“Jesus invites us to deeper friendship with him, and he wants us to go out and invite others into that same relationship.”

– Bishop Edward Malesic,
A Flourishing Apostolic Church

The Catholic Church, Founded by Christ

We believe in one Church—founded by Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit, and entrusted to the Apostles.

One

United in Christ, visible in our unity under the Pope, and made real in every parish.

Holy

Not because of us, but because of Him who sanctifies us by His Spirit.

Catholic

Universal and missionary, sent to every corner of the earth.

Apostolic

Rooted in the Apostles and their successors, the bishops, who teach, govern, and sanctify in Christ’s name.

At St. Francis Xavier Parish, we joyfully profess this faith. We celebrate the sacraments with reverence. And we strive to live out the Gospel message.

You Are Invited

God is still calling. He calls you into His family, the Church. He calls you to receive His grace and be sent as a disciple.

Whether you are returning, just beginning, or still questioning, there is a place for you here. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Simply come and see.
