Town Hall Meeting to Discuss New Church

April 25, 2026

As we’ve announced, discussions are under way for the building of a new church for St. Francis Xavier Parish. Father Tony has engaged an architectural team, and preliminary plans are being explored — including what kind of church it will be, where it will be situated on our property, and which direction it will face.

This is an exciting and important moment in the life of our 165-year-old parish. It’s essential that everyone has the opportunity to be informed and involved as we journey together.

For that reason, we invite you to a Town Hall Meeting on Monday, May 4, at 7 p.m. in the church.

At this gathering, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Hear Father Tony’s vision for our new church — and the future of the existing one
  • Meet the architects and learn why they were selected from six firms
  • Discover what decisions have already been made, and what comes next
  • Understand the general timeline for approvals, the capital campaign, and — God willing — construction
  • Ask questions and share your hopes for this important project

Your voice matters, and your presence will help shape the future of our parish home. We hope you’ll join us for this important step forward.

If you wish, you may talk with Father Tony about your questions and concerns, or email him at tsejba@sfxmedina.org.

Celebrate our country's 250th birthday

Celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday on the campus of St. Francis Xavier Parish! From the field next to our gym, you can see most of the fireworks being shot off at Medina High School.
Plus, you’ll get easy access to clean restrooms, parking and a playground for the kids. The parish will gladly provide our guests with free hot dogs, frozen ice cream and Popsicle treats, chips, water, activities and more. Open to all!
In addition, since the fireworks concide with First Friday, we will offer visitors the opportunity to stop into the church for a moment of peaceful prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Jesus will be exposed in the monstrance beginning at 7:30 p.m. and adoration will continue through the night until 7 a.m.
At 9 p.m., come to Mary’s Courtyard (between the church and school) and pray a rosary aloud in the darkness and dim light of the shrine. Bring your rosary, or some will be on hand for you.  We’ll finish in plenty of time to enjoy the 10 p.m. fireworks!
